She lights up a room...

I had the privilege to meet this little girl two years ago and also photograph her again last year. You may have seen her on my website. She is the little power ranger jumping in the air. That photo shows so much of her personality. She is just FUN!! She makes me laugh out loud at the things that she says and she doesn't let me get away with ANYTHING! She is 4 years old but going on 14! I mean it when I say it is a JOY to photograph this beautiful little girl. Her Mom brought with her an antique money box from China, a 'rice stool' that China women sit on to pick rice and her Chinese outfit -sorry I couldn't remember what it was called:(

"Miss E's" great grandmother came along to watch but I was the one watching them. I took a few photographs of them together and it was easy to capture the relationship that is between these two. "Miss E's" mom says they are inseparable when they are together. What a wonderful treasure it will be to have those photographs when she is really 14. I would love to post all of the shots that I took of her that day but I have to leave some anticipation...

"Miss E." said to me when she was here..."I love your website. It is very good." So "Miss E" I hope you like the new photos and seeing yourself on my blog...I can't wait to visit with you and your Mom again soon. Teri

Special "K"

Most people who know me know that I am a night owl. I find that I get my second wind around 10:00 p.m. and usually keep going until the early morning hours. Because I have children in school I am unable to begin my day at my ideal choice of 9 am but rather 6:30 am. When I have an early appointment like I had the morning that I photographed this special little "K" it is a blessing to have such a smiling baby. It has always amazed me that babies are their happiest in the morning when I am my sleepest. This was "K's" 6 month appointment and I was delighted to see him again. He really liked Mr. Fuzzy which brought out the best smiles. I hope you like your sneak preview because I know you will love the proofs.

I love the sweater cap!

P's Senior Photos

Whenever I take a photos of a graduating senior my biggest challenge is not getting them to smile it's just knowing when to stop. Most 17 to 18 year olds know how to smile so I tend to take WAY to many pictures and then have the dilemma of having to narrow down the selection. Won't you agree that 100 senior pictures is too hard for any Mom to have to choose from? So I am glad to report that P's Mom will only have half that amount to make her final decisions from.
Here are only a few of my favorites...

I love the way he looks so relaxed.

As I said most Seniors know how to smile and he has a very handsome smile.
I know choosing is going to difficult.

My first website contact!!

When I realized that it was time to get in the technology world or get left behind I decided that I could create my own website . It was very time consuming but I did it and only hoped that it would really be worth my time and effort. I had no idea that my first contact would come so quickly. When Mr. "S" Mommy contacted me through my website I was very excited. After talking with "Mr. S"'s Mommy I realized that we had actually already met years before. When you live in a small town I guess that is the way things are.

Because I photograph a lot of babies, I can usually tell in the first 5 minutes of the "getting to know you stage" of the photo session, how the photo shoot is going to go. I knew the minute Mr. "S" smiled at me at my front door that this was no typical 3 month old. I quickly saw that he was not only smiling and trying to sit up in the bassinet but he was holding his head up like a 6 month old. I know his new Mommy is going to love his photos. Here are only a few of my favorites...

Sweet little "S"

Time surely does fly by!! I have had the privilege of photographing this precious little baby girl's first year. I have loved watching her change each time she came for a photo shoot and especially looked forward to seeing another gorgeous dress her "GiGi" had smocked for her. Miss S always begins very timid but before the session is over she is smiling and showing off those beautiful brown eyes that have so much expression. It is always so hard to narrow down which photos to print but here is a sneak preview of the great photos that are on there way...

Just look at these eyes!!

Take a walk in my shoes...

Hi there!

I have been trying to balance my Momma and sister and her 3 little girls come up for a visit and my photography business. I sometimes forget that I actually have job that requires me to work. As I have said before I don't view my photography business as a "real job" because I love it so much which makes it hard to separate when I am "working" and when I am not. So I thought I would give you a "view" into how I used my time last week. I did somehow manage to take 160 preschool pictures, photograph a Daddy and his family before he left to fight for our county, which touched my heart more than words can say. ( I am not posting these pic because they are a surprise...) I enjoyed an overnight stay at a spa with some girlfriends which was WONDERFUL! On Thurs. I took a beautiful young lady's picture who has been nominated for homecoming representative for her school. Good luck "Miss E"- you have my vote. I shopped two days with my Momma and Sister and of course the 3 little girls. At Ethan's football playoff game I watched him play his little heart out, only to fall short of the victory. I, of course, captured all of this with about 120 photos. I ended my Sat. afternoon photographing a Senior girl who is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and finally collapsing on Saturday night at 8:30! I slept almost 12 hours which is probably a record for me. If you were to ask me when I was working and when I was playing it would be hard for me to say because my job is just a part of me and who I am.

You can take a look at a few of the photographs that were captured this week...

I was very pleased with the fall look for the preschool pictures.

What a beautiful young lady!

Ethan is #32. Although they didn't win, he still scored all 3 touchdowns!
Is it obvious that I am a proud Momma?

I had a great time with this young lady!
I especially love that her mom and sister came to help.

Busy days

It happens every year at this time and why I never see it coming just blows my mind. It is that time of the year when I get very little sleep and feel like I am pass myself running. Please don't think I am complaining because I am not. I realize that I am blessed and I am continually overwhelmed with the blessings that come from above in my life. I spent fall break with my kids visiting family in Alabama. I enjoyed watching my nieces soccer game. My biggest fan "S" made a goal and little "K" played her heart out even if it was only the last 30 seconds of the game. (She's not quite old enough to play yet). I got some great action shots so keep watching for updates on the sports section of my website. I also visited with my aunt, uncle and cousin and his newly engaged fiancee. I am looking foward to taking those engagement photos you two. And Kathy keep watching you never know when your picture might just show up :)

I just wanted to write a few words to say hello and also to say THANKS for those of you who read my blog and send me such kind words of encouragement. For those of you who are patiently waiting for your sneak preview keep watching they are on their way.

The perfect shot...

To what extent will a photographer go to get a perfect shot? When I have thought of this question before chiggers never came to mind. However, after walking in a very rugged, grown up field just to get to the pasture with flip-flops mind you to capture these photos of two adorable young ladies with their horse that question now has a whole new meaning. You will have to agree that it does appear to be worth all the itching that I have endured for these priceless memories of two sisters.

This are only a few of my favorites from that day. I have left a few surpises for when they get their proofs next week. I can't even imaging how they will choose the very best one for their Christmas cards. I am just glad it is not me.

One of my favorite reasons why I am a photographer...

This past weekend my sweet nieces came to visit. Of course that means it is picture time. I do love taking their pictures and they have had them made A LOT! My sister loves pictures as much as I do and wants them made all the time. I am just glad that she appreciates me as much as she does.

My oldest niece, “S” wants to be photographer just like her Aunt GG -that’s ME (which is a different story for another day ) when she grows ups. So she is very easy to photograph and always has been.

My sweet “K” on the other hand has a great smile as long as she isn’t trying too hard. Her Uncle Lance said if she did good she could play the Wii when she got back. So needless to say she did fantastic!

My baby niece Little “C” was just precious in her new pink leotard that her Nanny bought for her. I love those pictures!! This was the first time I have ever taken outdoor pictures of her and she wasn’t so sure about the grass, but she did give me her best smile on the rock wall.

I know that I am partial but my nieces are very beautiful!

Don't you agree?

A new friendship...

I love my job. It is always exciting when I get to meet new people. After Reagan called to set up “Little F’s” photo session I knew that it was just the beginning of a new friendship. When they arrived his little 3 month old baby boy was ready to show off his new smile and boy did he!! Almost every shot was a great smile…

Until we added his older cousins- then it was all serious business.

Don't you just love the expression
on his face in this picture?

A sneak preview of "Little H"...

“Little H” was such a joy during our photo session. He was so sweet and full of smiles with a fun personality. He did everything I wanted him to do and more. As always I enjoyed visiting with his Mommy and Daddy catching up on what is new in their lives. I know they are anxiously awaiting their proofs and I can’t wait for them to see all the expressions that were captured that day.

He even exhausted himself to the degree of needing a nap which prompted this great picture of his parents watching him catch a little nap.

Hey I'm back...

For those of you who might have been wondering when I was going to post all those cute pictures that I have been taking in the past few weeks I've had a virus. Well, not me exactly, but my computer. How did we ever live without computers or the internet? After recovering all my files and spending a day on the phone with my internet service I was back in business. During the week my computer was out of commission I was given a new desk (or "new" to me) from my sister. I love it and the new arrangment of my office. Since I feel like this is my cave sometimes I wanted to at least like how it looked and now I do. But my technology problems weren't over yet. After rearranging my office and putting it all back together my monitor would not come on. Apparently my backlight has gone out. So one week later as I await my replacement monitor from Samsung which by the way will take 14 business days I will make do with an old monitor that has a dark/black blob in the center of the screen. So needless to say I have been somewhat behind. I am glad to say that I have been working almost nonstop for 3 days in front of this terrible monitor to get my orders caught up.
Stay tuned for upcoming photo sessions sneak previews....
