Beautiful little "A"

I was very excited about meeting Miss " A " and her mom. Little A is a beautiful baby girl. She is also very strong for a 3 month old. She didn't like that I wanted her to lay back and relax like a baby she just wanted to raise up so she could see what was going on. I was very pleased with how the photo session went, but when I began to edit the pictures taken I knew that her Mom was going to just love them! It was hard to pick only a few to post but I got the feeling she might like surprises so I am only posting a few. Thank you Danielle for sharing her with me.

I think she looks like a doll in this photo!

I love the rose petals!!!!!

Fall Days

This family was easy to photograph. The kids were very well mannered and extremely cooperative considering how much the temperature began to drop on this fall day. Here is a sneak preview of this beautiful family. I know Kristi that this year will be even harder than last year choosing your Christmas cards. Good luck!

Burrrrr!!!!!!!!

I love Sunday naps. It seems that I rarely get one, but that doesn't change the fact that I LIKE them, especially on a cold Sunday afternoon. Last Sunday when the temperture didn't get above 45 I was afraid that my 3:00 appointment would have to be rescheduled. But when the Mom of these two cute kiddo's was willing to give it a try I was willing to give up my idea of a Sunday nap. It took a great effort from Mom and Dad to get little brother out of his coat and warm blanket to attempt to smile and not look cold. After a quick warm up in the nearby car I was able to capture a few smiles. Big Sister was great! She did exactly what I asked and never complained once. Jennifer, I can't wait for you to see all the proofs in a few days but here are a few of my favorites...

Jack Be Nimble Jack Be Quick!

I always love to photograph this little blue eyed boy and enjoy visiting with his Mommy. He is full of energy these days keeping his Mom busy and "helping" take care of his new baby sister. I took Baby K's picture for her newborn announcement last week but decided not to post any pictures as to not spoil the surprise of the announcement. I knew this was going to be a busy photo session from the moment we arrived at the location. We worked fast and I feel that many good smiles and expressions were captured that day. I love the ones by the door ~ great idea Mom!

Work! Work! Work!

I have been sooo busy. I am not complaining at all~ work is a good thing. A friend of mine was recently looking at my calendar because we haven't had a day to play :) and made the comment that my part time photography business has become a FULL time job. I guess she is right...or at least for the last 2 months and until Christmas I do have a full time business. My main goal these last few weeks has been to do the photo sessions and then edit them as quickly as possible instead of putting them on my blog for everyone to see. So this post will be a "catch up post" to let others see what I have been up too. If you have become a recent blog follower I really appreciate it and I LOVE your feed back.

Here are a few of my favorites from the last few weeks of photo sessions:

I can't believe this little boy is already six months old.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her Mom was afraid she was going to lose her baby teeth before we could get this photo session in. But we made it! :)
More Favorites...
You will be seeing many more sweet pictures of this little angel.
I absoultely LOVE baby feet!!
This little guy is such a treat each time. This was from his recent 6 month session.
This rocker was made by his granddaddy which is pretty special!
Just a few more from a little boy that I have taken pictures of since he was 3 months old. I can't believe he just turned 2!! Photo sessions of 2 year olds especially little boys have to be fast and on the go. We finally put him in the tree and was able to capture a great smile!!
This was one of the first shots so I was surprised to see this shot of him sitting still. I only remembered the running around shots.
Finally I wanted to post my little girl. Well I can still call her my little girl eventhough she just had about 5 inches of her beautiful blond hair cut off. Watching her grow up is getting very hard. I want her to stay a young innocent little girl, but I see her changing every day. I recently tried taking her picture with her cat Fluffy TWICE!!! Most animals are not too hard but this cat was very difficult. She just wanted to play with that blond hair! I have said to many customers over the years when they are stressing over how their children are cooperating during a photo shoot that I completely understand. Taking my own children's photograph is my very hardest subjects. They already know all of my tricks which they don't always find amusing yet they are trying so hard that it looks like they are doing exactly that~ trying too hard. So here are my best shots but by far not my favorite of my little girl...
Which one do you like?
My little Buddy "K"
This is probably one of my all time favorites of little buddy!
There are a few little boys that I have the honor of photographing that I would like to take home with me after a photo session and my buddy "K" is one of them. My daughter was petitioned by "K" to watch him get his photograph taken and was very sad when he was pulled away by his mom to go home. We are going to take him up on his overnight stay one of these days!! This sneak preview is only a small sample of what I was able to capture on this beautiful fall day. "K" is so easy to photograph which makes me look good! Thanks little buddy! I had a hard time choosing which photos to share and feel that I have given you only a small glimpse into our afternoon together.
The "S" Family
This photo session was fun! I enjoyed meeting this neat family. I was welcomed into their home that was very warm and inviting with a wonderful smell. Misty you will have to remind me again the name of that candle! We then headed to the future site of their new home that will be built by none other than the Dad himself. Once outside it was very easy to see they were in their natural element. This family loves the outdoors and it was easily seen in their expressions. I found it a blessing to meet this interesting family and felt that I gained a new friendship.
M & M's are such good treats
This special little guy who I'll call M&M was such a treat to photograph. This was our first photo session together but he was all smiles and ready to get started. I loved hearing his little laugh. (It is great when babies actually think I am funny enough to laugh out loud!) M&M's blue eyes almost twinkle when he smiles. I caught myself wanting to just touch those cheeks! When he stopped smiling long enough I was able to capture a few serious looks that are my favorites! I can't wait for his Mom to get the proofs so she can ooh and aah over her precious little M&M!
His eyes just twinkle in this picture...
He looks like a 'big boy' sitting in this chair!
She lights up a room...
I had the privilege to meet this little girl two years ago and also photograph her again last year. You may have seen her on my website. She is the little power ranger jumping in the air. That photo shows so much of her personality. She is just FUN!! She makes me laugh out loud at the things that she says and she doesn't let me get away with ANYTHING! She is 4 years old but going on 14! I mean it when I say it is a JOY to photograph this beautiful little girl. Her Mom brought with her an antique money box from China, a 'rice stool' that China women sit on to pick rice and her Chinese outfit -sorry I couldn't remember what it was called:(
"Miss E's" great grandmother came along to watch but I was the one watching them. I took a few photographs of them together and it was easy to capture the relationship that is between these two. "Miss E's" mom says they are inseparable when they are together. What a wonderful treasure it will be to have those photographs when she is really 14. I would love to post all of the shots that I took of her that day but I have to leave some anticipation...
"Miss E." said to me when she was here..."I love your website. It is very good." So "Miss E" I hope you like the new photos and seeing yourself on my blog...I can't wait to visit with you and your Mom again soon. Teri
Special "K"
Most people who know me know that I am a night owl. I find that I get my second wind around 10:00 p.m. and usually keep going until the early morning hours. Because I have children in school I am unable to begin my day at my ideal choice of 9 am but rather 6:30 am. When I have an early appointment like I had the morning that I photographed this special little "K" it is a blessing to have such a smiling baby. It has always amazed me that babies are their happiest in the morning when I am my sleepest. This was "K's" 6 month appointment and I was delighted to see him again. He really liked Mr. Fuzzy which brought out the best smiles. I hope you like your sneak preview because I know you will love the proofs.
I love the sweater cap!
P's Senior Photos
Whenever I take a photos of a graduating senior my biggest challenge is not getting them to smile it's just knowing when to stop. Most 17 to 18 year olds know how to smile so I tend to take WAY to many pictures and then have the dilemma of having to narrow down the selection. Won't you agree that 100 senior pictures is too hard for any Mom to have to choose from? So I am glad to report that P's Mom will only have half that amount to make her final decisions from.
Here are only a few of my favorites...
I love the way he looks so relaxed.
As I said most Seniors know how to smile and he has a very handsome smile.
I know choosing is going to difficult.
My first website contact!!
When I realized that it was time to get in the technology world or get left behind I decided that I could create my own website . It was very time consuming but I did it and only hoped that it would really be worth my time and effort. I had no idea that my first contact would come so quickly. When Mr. "S" Mommy contacted me through my website I was very excited. After talking with "Mr. S"'s Mommy I realized that we had actually already met years before. When you live in a small town I guess that is the way things are.
Because I photograph a lot of babies, I can usually tell in the first 5 minutes of the "getting to know you stage" of the photo session, how the photo shoot is going to go. I knew the minute Mr. "S" smiled at me at my front door that this was no typical 3 month old. I quickly saw that he was not only smiling and trying to sit up in the bassinet but he was holding his head up like a 6 month old. I know his new Mommy is going to love his photos. Here are only a few of my favorites...
